Accounts Receivable Clerk

LHH is currently seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client's team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity in Oakland CA! The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in the finance department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of receivables. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounts receivable and a strong understanding of financial processes. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and gain valuable experience in the field.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming payments and apply them to customer accounts accurately
  • Generate invoices and statements for customers in a timely manner
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past due invoices
  • Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciling accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts receivable transactions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

 

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
