About the Team
PICO Studios team partners with top global VR developers to bring their games and apps to new markets. We help developers to spread joy and increase revenue by getting their content in front of an emerging audience of consumers eager to try the best games and apps on ByteDance’s XR Platform.

As an Account Manager, you will work closely with our VR developers throughout their app development cycle, from initial business development and contract negotiations to launch to ongoing updates and marketing activities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term success of our developers in our PICO Store. Your responsibilities extend across various departments as you will collaborate cross-functionally with legal, marketing, game operations, dev console, SDK, finance, PR, and developer relations teams to ensure a world-class developer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Serve as the point of contact for negotiating and closing contracts with new and existing developers.
  • Lead Generation: Find and develop relationships with developers inside and outside of the XR industry.
  • Milestone Management: Follow up with developers to ensure timely delivery of builds and assets, as well as internal teams to ensure game ships according to agreed-upon dates.
  • Daily Point of Contact: Serve as the daily point of contact for your assigned developer teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Assist teams in resolving issues with the SDK, Publishing Console, or Game Services to ensure their app functions as expected.
  • Quality Assurance: Share results from our internal QA team and manage turnaround times between teams for scheduled app launches.
  • Documentation: Ensure that paperwork, including contracts, invoices, NDAs, etc., are filed in a timely manner.
  • Technical Acumen: Be knowledgeable of the PICO SDK and Features Roadmap.
  • Team Meetings: Attend weekly team meetings to report on app progress.
  • Market Research: Research and report on promising apps that may appeal to the PICO audience.
  • Miscellaneous: Handle other tasks as assigned by the Developer Relations Director.

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of relevant industry work experience in business development, account management, product marketing, game publishing, or platform partnerships.
  • In-depth knowledge of the virtual reality, gaming, mobile, or digital content industry.
  • Experience negotiating contracts
  • Experience working with legal to modify contracts
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented, upbeat, and focused, with a strong desire to learn and succeed.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities across functions (e.g., creative teams, legal, policy, marketing, partnerships, ops, finance, and engineering).
  • Effectiveness in working independently in a fast-paced and fluid environment; experience in adapting, spotting issues early, and escalating to the appropriate team.
  • Solution-based thinking: able to identify issues and present solutions.
  • Interest in gaming and frequent gameplay.
  • Customer service mindset.
