Description:
In this client facing role, operate as a key member of the Client Service Team supporting large institutional asset owner clients (Corporations, Insurance Companies, Public Funds, Foundations, Endowments and Not-for-Profit Healthcare), providing day-to-day support for the execution of client directed cash and trade activities, assisting clients with resolution of cash and trade related inquiries, providing support and training for client use of Northern Trust's transaction initiation platform, and working with the Client Service Team to mitigate and manage risk associated with cash and trade activities.
Major Duties
- Day to day contact for execution of all client directed cash, foreign exchange, and trade activity.
- Handles inquiries from clients and internal partner areas related to client directed activity and provides timely responses (i.e., confirming transaction activity).
- Reviews client cash balances and assists with the resolution of any exceptions resulting from the processing of client directed activity.
- Coordinates with the broader client service team on the execution of client activity, communicating with client and vendors as appropriate.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for questions and training on Northern Trust's online transaction initiation platform. Performs virtual or face-to-face demonstrations of the platform for new and existing clients.
- Documents client specific procedures and communicates with client as appropriate to manage daily activity.
- Develops clear understanding of assigned clients and builds report with key client contacts.
- Proactively reviews and identifies opportunities for process improvement in the day-to-day delivery of service to the client.
- Attends and actively participates in internal client service team meetings.
- Attends and actively participates in client meetings as needed.
- Manages risk associated with client directed activity to protect the client and Northern Trust
Qualifications
- Knowledge of trust/custody operations usually acquired through training and related experience
- General business and basic Securities Industry knowledge usually acquired through training and/or prior experience.
- Attention to detail required to manage the level of risk involved with the role.
- Analytical skills required to identify and resolve client issues.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in financial services/accounting fields with client servicing background.
